Update on the Blogger front

As some of you may know, I gave up my old blog address http://wordsbystelladeleuze.blogspot.com by changing the URL to stella deleuze rants, and then, realising that my account must have been hacked, deleted the old account entirely and transferred the blog to a new one. The people who hacked into my account were cheeky enough to grab the old address, plus content and named it Stella Deleuze rants, which is quite infuriating. That's the reason why I named this blog Stella Deleuze rants and other topics.

I have reported this copyright infringement to Blogger and they are investigating. They got back to me saying they're onto it and asked me to provide more details. I have given the information they needed and am hoping that the twin blog, which is not mine (anymore), will be deleted.

Interestingly, I thought nobody would be able to do anything with a funny address like Words by Stella Deleuze, but someone grabbed it as soon as it was free (I discovered it the next day), imported the content of  my whole blog, and posted some incoherent stuff about online insurances. That is not my post, and anyone who knows my style, should have noticed. My friend was rather confused, so were probably a lot of followers.

What I've learned from this? Post about an address change to notify followers, keep/reserve the old address, or, if you change to a new account, delete the old one entirely. Saves you a lot of grief.

Bloggers beware!

I recently changed my blog address, as I have a new site for my books. A company snagged up wordsbystelladeleuze, including all my previous posts, to sell their life insurance. They're clearly infringing copyright.

I've worked hard on that blog, to get my following and I was of the opinion, that all my followers will be transferred to the new blog address, I'm a bit of a tech failure when it comes to these things. Thought my last post is on that blog, too, but minus the comments. My friend, though, told me he didn't receive that last post. Not a happy camper here.

So if you're following my old blog and suddenly get weird posts, I mean weirder than my usual posts, it's not me. wordsbystelladeleuze.co.uk, is not my blog. When they continue to post that shite, they'll lose all followers anyway, but what's worse, is that they damage my reputation, because people will think I've now lost it completely. I haven't. Not yet, at least. :-)

Just thought I'd let you know.

Thank you, everyone

10,000 visitors

When I started out two years ago, I wasn't really sure about blogging. A public diary? No way. Who is going to read that? I wondered. And what should I talk about?
Everyone said as an author you need a blog. Right. I signed up, spent ages to fiddle with the layout and a few shaky posts later, I was a blogger.
Same as in real life, I never shut up once given the opportunity and as soon as I found my blogging voice, I merrily posted whenever I felt to.
A lot of my visitors come through search engines, searching for information about iguanas, for recipes -- oddly enough the Feta cheese and tomatoes are the hit -- and, of course, the advice on writing and editing. Many come back and more and more take part in discussions about some of the controversial topics I write about.
Thankfully, it has always been at a reasonable level. There was never an incident where I had to interfere or delete someone's comment. It seems I'm attracting the good people and I'm rather proud of it.

I want to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you who regularly pops by. And those who just recently came to leave a comment. Hopefully, you'll be still there when I'm celebrating reaching 20k.

Thank you, guys. You are wonderful.
